If you are a G&T lover, you may think an alcohol-free gin-and-tonic cocktail with non-alcoholic gin is just a contradiction in terms.
I mean, once you take away the star of the show, there is not much left in a two-ingredient cocktail… or is there?
Mixing the perfect alcohol-free gin and tonic is not easy. If you have tried it in the past, you may have even decided that a good G&T mocktail is not meant to be. However, I believe you should reconsider!

How to Make A Virgin Gin and Tonic Mocktail
There are two main ways to recreate gin’s taste without alcohol.
You can avoid gin altogether and simply add garnishes and herbs to your favourite tonic water to create a botanical flavour.
This is an easy, budget-friendly option, and it is surprisingly tasty. However, it requires a good mix of garnishes to work.
You may find that to recreate the kick of the gin, you need a slice of fresh cucumber, juniper berries, pink peppercorn, and even cardamom pods. This makes for a busy glass!
An easier way is to invest in a good bottle of non-alcoholic gin.
As you will see from our recipe for this virgin gin and tonic, we still love to add garnishes to our G&T mocktail, but the preparation is easier, and the taste is, we believe, more satisfying.
What Is the Best Non-Alcoholic Gin for a Virgin G&T?
Like with real gin, the only way to find your favourite non-alcoholic gin is to taste it. However, we believe you may like the following brands:
- Seedlip Spice 94 Aromatic – made with allspice and cardamom with fresh citrus top notes, this is a lovely gin alternative with a bitter finish
- Seedlip Grove 42 Citrus – delicious, citrusy non-alcoholic gin made with orange, lemongrass, ginger, and lemon peel
