Graveyard Dirt Cake Cups
These Graveyard Dirt Cake Cups are creamy, chocolatey treats layered with crushed cookies and pudding for a spooky Halloween dessert. Topped with cookie tombstones, sprinkles and gummy worms, they’re a fun and festive treat for kids and adults alike.
- Total Time: 55-60 minutes
- Yield: 10 cups 1x
Ingredients
3.9 oz chocolate pudding mix
2 cups cold milk (or as directed on pudding mix package)
4 oz cream cheese, softened
4 oz cool whip
1/3 cup powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
4 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
29 Oreos (double stuffed or regular)
Gummy worms (I used Trolli sour electric crawlers)
Halloween sprinkles (I used Great Value Day of the dead sprinkle mix)
Black writing gel
Instructions
- Mix chocolate pudding with milk according to package directions and set aside. For my package it required 2 cups of cold milk to be added to the pudding mix.
- In a separate bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and softened butter with an electric mixer until smooth. Add the powdered sugar and mix until fully incorporated.
- Next, add the vanilla extract.
- Combine the cream cheese mixture with the pudding mixture and mix until well combined.
- Add the cool whip and mix until just combined.
- Cover in saran wrap and place in the refrigerator.
- Crush the Oreo cookies in a zip lock bag with a rolling pin.
- Use the black writing gel to write “RIP” on the top of the Milano cookies to make the tombstones.
- Add about 1 tablespoon crushed Oreo cookies to the bottom of each cup.
- Next, add a scoop of the pudding mixture to each cup. Smooth the layer out with the back of a spoon. (I used an ice cream scoop filled about half way for each layer.)
- Repeat adding another cookie layer and another pudding mixture layer.
- Top with 2 tablespoons of crushed cookies.
- Refrigerate for about 30 minutes before serving.
- Decorate the dirt cake cups before serving with your cookie Tombstones, sprinkles, and gummy worms.
Notes
- Cookies and gummy worms will get soggy upon sitting so be sure not to add them too soon before enjoying.
- Store these dirt cake cups in the refrigerator in an airtight container.
