1 cup tomato juice
1 lemon (juice + wedges for garnish)
1 lime (juice + wedges for garnish)
1/4 cup tequila (or vodka, to taste)
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 jalapeño
1 stalk celery
1/2 teaspoon ground cayenne pepper
1/2 teaspoon ground paprika
1/4 teaspoon turmeric
1/4 teaspoon ground garlic
Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
Ice (for serving)
Instructions
- Cut the celery and peeled jalapeño into small pieces. Place them in a pitcher for preparing the drink.
- Place the sliced lemon wedges and pour in 2 tablespoons lime juice. Add a pinch of pepper.
- Add tomato juice and Worcestershire sauce. Pour in tequila (or vodka, if you want a more classic Bloody Mary). Stir well with a spoon or shake in a shaker until smooth. Taste and add more lime juice, salt, or spice if needed.
- Garnish the shot glasses. Wet the rims of the test tubes or shot glasses with lime juice, dip them in the salt and spice mixture to create a “vampire” red rim.
- Place ice in a bowl or plate, insert the test tubes with the cocktail. Add lime and lemon wedges for atmosphere.
