  • Total Time: 5 minutes
  • Yield: 1 large (8 oz) or 2 small (4 oz)

Ingredients

Scale

2 ounces Bailey’s Vanilla Mint Shake Liqueur

2 ounces vodka

2 ounces creme de menthe

2 ounces half-and-half

Whipped cream

Chocolate or chocolate mint shavings

Green sanding sugar

Simple syrup

Instructions

For the Rim:

  1. Place a small amount of simple syrup on one saucer and spread a good layer of the green sanding sugar on the other.
  2. Dip the edge of the martini glass in the simple syrup first and then in the sanding sugar. Make sure the rim is well-coated all the way around.

For the Drink:

  1. Add ice to a cocktail shaker. Pour in the Bailey’s, vodka, creme de menthe, and half-and-half and vigorously shake well (about 15-20 seconds).
  2. Pour the mixture into the rimmed martini glass.
  3. Top with whipped cream.
  4. Sprinkle on the chocolate mint shavings to garnish.
  5. Serve and enjoy!

Notes

  • This is a stronger cocktail that can be made as one large (8-9 ounces) martini as shown or split into two smaller martinis.
  • You can use either clear or green creme de menthe. I used clear and as you can see, it’s still a greenish drink (even without the sanding sugar). The sanding sugar will drip down into the drink which helps the color.
  • For the chocolate shavings, I grated an Andes mint. However, you can use any kind of shavings (Hershey’s chocolate bar or even ready-made).
