An easy recipe to make a simple sugar syrup for sweetening your cocktails

  • Total Time: 20 minutes
  • Yield: Approx 125ml or 4 fl oz 1x

Ingredients

Scale

1/2 cup caster sugar

1/2 cup water

Instructions

  1. Add the sugar and water to a small saucepan over medium heat
  2. Stir until the sugar is completely dissolved (the longer you boil it for the thicker your syrup will be when cooled)
  3. Let it cool before pouring into a sterile, airtight glass container

Notes

  • It’s easy to change your quantities if you’d like a bigger batch. The standard recipe calls for 50/50 sugar to water but you can, of course, make it a little sweeter by simply adding more sugar.
