  • Total Time: 20 minutes
  • Yield: 10-12 (9oz cup trifles)

Ingredients

Scale

1 premade angel food cake

3 cups cold milk

5.1 oz package vanilla (or white chocolate or cheesecake) pudding mix

1 8 oz container whipped topping

Food coloring – pastel blue, pink, purple, yellow, green, or any combination

Peeps Bunny marshmallows

Easter M&M candies

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, combine the cold milk and pudding mix.  Whisk for about 2 minutes and thoroughly combined.  Set aside for about 5 minutes to begin setting up.
  2. Cut the angel food cake into 1-inch sized cubes.
  3. Add the whipped topping to the pudding mix and fold until thoroughly combined.
  4. Divide the filling between four different bowls.  Tint with food colorings of choice – we chose blue, purple, pink and yellow.
  5. To assemble – begin with a layer of the cubed angel food cake pieces in your 9-ounce or similar sized containers.
  6. Spoon a layer of each tinted filling into each trifle cup.  We chose to pair yellow with blue and pink with purple, but you can adjust or change accordingly.
  7. Top with another layer of the angel food cake.
  8. Finally, add another layer of the pudding filling, contrasting with the one previously used.  Each cup should have two different colors of pudding filling.
  9. If serving at a later time, cover and refrigerate.
  10. When ready to serve – Insert a Peeps bunny marshmallow and sprinkle a few M&M candies around the bunny.
  11. Serve and enjoy!

Notes

  • Storage:  Trifles can be stored in the fridge and covered for up to 2 days.  The M&M candies will begin to bleed into the pudding filling, so we recommend finishing the assembly just prior to serving.
