  • Total Time: 15 minutes
  • Yield: 6-8 1x

Ingredients

For the frosting:

1 cup unsalted butter, softened

4 cups powdered sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla

1/2 teaspoon salt

Black frosting

For the dippers (any variety of scoopable and snackable items):

Pretzels

Pirouette

Lemon cookies

Nilla Wafers

Shortbread Cookies

Vanilla Wafer Cookies

Robin Eggs Chocolate Candies

M&M Candies

Peeps

Instructions

  1. In the bowl of a stand mixer, combine the softened butter, about half of the powdered sugar, vanilla and salt.
  2. Mix on low until combined.
  3. Add in the remaining powdered sugar and mix on low until combined.  If the frosting appears dry or crumbly, add a dash of water or milk.
  4. Bump up the speed to medium and whip for about a minute or until light and fluffy looking.
  5. Transfer the frosting to a piping bag fitted with a large star tip.
  6. Print the template provided and cover with a piece of parchment.
  7. Pipe stars around the outside edge and then fill in the center.
  8. Use an offset spatula to flatten the icing.
  9. Use pink M&M candies to create the pinks of the ears and the heart shaped nose.
  10. Use the black frosting to pipe the bunny’s eyes, whiskers and mouth with buck teeth.
  11. Transfer your piped Easter image to your serving platter.
  12. Arrange the dipping items around the frosting, starting with the largest items first.
  13. Small items like the M&M’s and candies can also be placed in bowls to add another effect or used to fill in small spaces between items.
  14. Adjust the quantities of items, adding more or less, as the board gets filled in and covered to your liking.
  15. Serve immediately or loosely cover with plastic wrap until ready to serve.

Notes

  • Buttercream needs to be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to one week. It will harden, so soften to room temp before using again.
  • Dipping items should be stored in an airtight container at room temperature.
