  • Total Time: 40 minutes
  • Yield: 1 1/2 cups 1x

Ingredients

Scale

8 oz cream cheese, softened

1/4 cup brown sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/4 cup caramel syrup (ice cream topping), plus extra for drizzling

4 oz cool whip

4-5 apples

1/2 cup mini chocolate chips

1/2 cup chopped nuts

1/4 cup sprinkles

1/4 cup crushed pretzels

Optional: skewers, graham crackers, pretzels, lemon juice

Instructions

  1. With an electric mixer, beat the softened cream cheese with the brown sugar until well blended (about 30 seconds).
  2. Next, add the vanilla extract and caramel syrup and beat on low speed until combined.
  3. Stir in the cool whip.
  4. Refrigerate for 30 minutes or until ready to serve.
  5. Meanwhile, slice the apples. If desired, add the apples to a mixture of 1 tablespoon lemon juice and 1 cup cold water.  Let soak for 5 minutes to help prevent oxidation.
  6. Crush pretzels by adding them to a ziplock bag and use a rolling pin to crush them. Roll the pin back and forth over the pretzels like you would when rolling out dough.
  7. Place crushed pretzels, sprinkles, chopped nuts, and mini chocolate chips in small bowls and arrange on your board.
  8. Add the dip in the center and fill in the empty spaces between the bowls with apple slices.
  9. Serve with a small bowl of caramel syrup on the side for drizzling.  Graham crackers and pretzels are other great options for dipping.
