Ingredients
8 oz cream cheese, softened
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 cup caramel syrup (ice cream topping), plus extra for drizzling
4 oz cool whip
4-5 apples
1/2 cup mini chocolate chips
1/2 cup chopped nuts
1/4 cup sprinkles
1/4 cup crushed pretzels
Optional: skewers, graham crackers, pretzels, lemon juice
Instructions
- With an electric mixer, beat the softened cream cheese with the brown sugar until well blended (about 30 seconds).
- Next, add the vanilla extract and caramel syrup and beat on low speed until combined.
- Stir in the cool whip.
- Refrigerate for 30 minutes or until ready to serve.
- Meanwhile, slice the apples. If desired, add the apples to a mixture of 1 tablespoon lemon juice and 1 cup cold water. Let soak for 5 minutes to help prevent oxidation.
- Crush pretzels by adding them to a ziplock bag and use a rolling pin to crush them. Roll the pin back and forth over the pretzels like you would when rolling out dough.
- Place crushed pretzels, sprinkles, chopped nuts, and mini chocolate chips in small bowls and arrange on your board.
- Add the dip in the center and fill in the empty spaces between the bowls with apple slices.
- Serve with a small bowl of caramel syrup on the side for drizzling. Graham crackers and pretzels are other great options for dipping.
