Big Mac Pinwheels Recipe
- Total Time: 55 minutes
- Yield: 4
Ingredients
16 ounces ground beef
374 grams puff pastry pre-rolled dough
3 tablespoons olive oil
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
2 teaspoons garlic powder
1 teaspoon paprika
1 white onion, diced
1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1 cup shredded lettuce
1 tablespoon sesame seeds
Sauce Ingredients:
1 cup mayonnaise
1 tablespoon pickle relish
1 teaspoon granulated sugar
1 tablespoon mustard
1 teaspoon white vinegar
1 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
Instructions
- Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add the diced onion and cook until translucent, about 3 to 4 minutes.
- Add the ground beef, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika. Cook until the beef is browned and fully cooked, about 7 to 10 minutes. Drain any excess grease.
- In a small bowl, mix together all sauce ingredients until well combined. Set aside.
- Roll out the puff pastry on a clean surface or cutting board. Evenly spread the cooked beef mixture over the pastry. Drizzle about 3/4 of the sauce over the beef and sprinkle with cheese.
- Carefully roll the puff pastry into a log. Place in the freezer for about 10 to 15 minutes to firm up for easier slicing.
- Preheat the oven to 204°C. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Slice the chilled roll into pinwheels, about 1 to 1 1/2 inches thick. Place the pinwheels on the prepared baking sheet. Brush the sides with the remaining tablespoon of olive oil.
- Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.
- Remove from the oven. Drizzle with the remaining sauce, top with shredded lettuce, and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
- Serve warm and enjoy!
Notes
- Make sure the puff pastry is fully thawed but still cold when working with it. If it gets too warm, pop it back in the fridge for a few minutes to firm up.
